Today instead of the usual interview format, I'll be speaking with Richard Andrew Grove and Lisa Arbercheski of 8thestate media and Tragedy and Hope magazine about my trip to Peru, my experience with the medical system there, and some brief, and sometimes not as in depth as they could be, comparisons regarding our two cultures. Those of you out there who are seeking good and affordable health care, dental, etc, I think you'll appreciate this show, at least I hope so.

The costs for the medical care I received in Peru would have cost somewhere between $60,000 to $80,000 in the US. But how much did these Harvard University trained doctors in Peru charge me? Less than $2000 - and that's without insurance, and includes the prescriptions, consultations, hospital stay and other expenses. Exactly what are we paying for when we pay for American medical insurance? In my case they didn't resolve the problem and misdiagnosed me for 13 years.

We'll also discuss the Peruvian dental system, the American diet and obesity, cultural differences, and the similarities between Catholic and Inca religions and a few other items. Some of you will be shocked to discover that the Inca and Catholic beliefs are not so different after all.
